Over the course of this workshop, we will delve into a diverse range of topics, including understanding the cognitive and behavioral needs of parrots, designing dynamic and engaging enclosures, aviaries, and play gyms, designing enrichment for behavior change, shaping complexities, and how enrichment can be used to empower parrots and their relationship with us. Through a blend of interactive lectures, hands-on demonstrations, and collaborative activities, youโll gain new insights and creative techniques to elevate the quality of life for the parrot(s) in your care. Whether youโre a parrot caretaker, enthusiast, or professional, prepare to fill your brain with creativity and our creative approaches. Youโll be able to see how the parrots, and other birds at The Animal Behavior Center interact with the enrichment we provide.
This two-day workshop includes lunch and enrichment items you put together to take home. The Animal Behavior Center doors will open each day for attendees at 8:30 AM. The workshop will begin at 9 and last until 4 each day.

I recently took another excellent workshop at The Animal Behavior Center. It was hands-on and informative, but it really should have been titled “(Not Just For) Parrot Enrichment Workshop!” So many of the ideas can be easily adapted for other birds and mammals as well. I got more ideas in the first half of the first day than I hoped to get for the entire workshop! It’s very apparent Lara is knowledgeable when discussing animals, but I especially love seeing her rapport while working with her own animals. Her entire staff is friendly and helpful. A very well-spent two days!
