Join me on Sunday, September 27th at 9 AM EST for another, live-streamed episode of Coffee With The Critters on The Animal Behavior Center’s Facebook page. In this episode, Lara Joseph is excited to be interviewing and have a converstation with Lina Kelly of Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary out of Athens, Michigan.
Lina Kelly is the Director of Animal Care and Enrichment at Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary in Athens, MI. Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary is a rescue-only facility that houses nearly 200 alligators and other reptiles that have come from unwanted homes from all over the country. Lina is a graduate of Western Michigan University where she studied Spanish and Biology. Lina’s greatest opportunity was studying abroad in Panama where she lived with and studied herpetology in the rainforest.
Lina loves educating the public on how magical these animals are and teaches others about having a healthy respect for alligators and all animals. Lina’s favorite part of her work is earning the trust of the animals that she cares for through positive reinforcement and helps them to heal from their previous trauma and neglect.
When Lina isn’t working, she is spending quality time with her husband, Kyle and two beautiful daughters, Isabella and Vanessa, and of course her rescued wire-haired terrier, Rocky.
